Some adults who are out of work or under-employed do not have the academic skills for new employment or to enter post-secondary education. Carver-Scott Educational Cooperative Adult Basic Education can provide academic skill enhancement to prepare for the work-force goal they set.

The Accuplacer Test is a placement test for admittance at technical schools, colleges, and universities in the United States. The test measures whether incoming students have the necessary skills or whether they require refresher or developmental courses. The Accuplacer includes general assessments in sentence skills, reading comprehension, arithmetic, algebra, and college-level mathematics.

Carver-Scott Educational Cooperative Adult Basic Education can provide instruction to prepare students to pass the Accuplacer and reduce the need for costly courses and allow the student to proceed immediately to the course work of their interest.
