Connecting Computer Systems

The PC as a stand-alone device can be adequate for use as a home computer. However, businesses, government offices, and schools need to exchange information and share equipment and resources. This exchanging and sharing is known as networking. Networking was developed as a method of connecting individual computers. The individual computers in a network are known as workstations.
