STudent Achievement in Reading (STAR) is a comprehensive reading program built upon evidence-based reading instructional strategies. STAR will help adult intermediate-level learners so that they can succeed in the workplace as well as in their daily lives.  STAR assesses reading levels and provides instruction in 4 components of reading ability:

Fluency - the ability to read with efficiency and ease.

De-coding - the process readers use to identify words.

Vocabulary - the body of words whose meanings a person knows and understands.

Comprehension - the process and product of understanding text.
