District 930 relies on its volunteers to assist with a variety of educational opportunities for students. The Volunteer Facilitator will work with you to develop an engaging and satisfying experience. Training and continuous follow-through is provided. Opportunities are flexible in regards to length of commitment, days, times and seasons. District 930 currently has volunteer opportunities within the following educational programs:
Adult Education Volunteers are a critical need in adult education. Currently, community members and college students volunteer time with adult English Language Learners or in GED classes. Career & Technical Education Programs Programs that offer a wide range of educational opportunities in areas such as auto mechanics, construction, computer graphics/technology, cosmetology and photography. Location: Main Campus, 401 E. 4th Street, Chaska
Carver Scott High School An alternative high school program that provides credit for work in academics and vocational education tailored to meet students' individual needs. Location: Main Campus, 401 E. 4th Street, Chaska
Learning Labs Programs situated within mainstream schools providing individualized educational assistance to those who need alternative learning approaches. Locations: Within mainstream schools in Carver and Scott counties
LINK An alternative program for 12-15 year olds that combines small class size and independent study with vocational programming options. Location: Waconia ALC, 504 Industrial Blvd., Waconia
New Beginnings An alternative education program for pregnant and parenting teens that provides academics, career development, pregnancy and parenting education. Location: East Creek Family Center, 303 E. 6th Street, Chaska
Passages A special education program for students that provides senior high credit while focusing on behavioral and emotional issues. Location: Main Campus, 401 E. 4th Street, Chaska
Transitions A program that provides services in community awareness, life-skills training, vocational training and placement and social recreation for students with special needs (ages 18-22) who are moving toward more independent living. Location: Crosby Park, 309 Lake Hazeltine Drive, Chaska
