The Transition programs provide services for special education students 17-21 years of age in all disability areas. We work closely with outside agencies to help students with disabilities experience a smooth transition from high school life into young adulthood. The goal of our program is to help maximize student potential by working with their skills and interests to find jobs, educational training options, and home/community involvement.
Transition I and II provides services to students with cognitive and physical disabilities.
Transition III and IV are for students under the disability areas of OHD and EBD. These students are typically behind in school credits and the educational teams have determined the student will graduate off of their IEP's instead of completing a credit based program.
Curriculum focuses on the three areas of transition: Post Secondary Education, Jobs/Job Training, and Community Participation. A full time mental health worker provides students with both individual and group services. Students also have the opportunity to participate in Career & Technical classes through CSEC to learn more about their skills and interests. The goal of this program is for students to learn how to use the skills/interests they have to be contributing members of society, get a handle on mental health issues, and learn to appropriately advocate for themselves.
Transition V is designed for students with ASD, who need additional instruction and opportunities to be successful and independent in adult roles.
