2007

The New Beginnings program is being honored with the Minnesota Student Service Award "Hall of Fame" distinction. This distinction is only given to exemplary programs that demonstrate an intense commitment to service learning and do so over the course of many, many years. In the Hall of Fame, New Beginnings joins Benilde St. Margaret's School, the Carver-Scott Educational Cooperative district as a whole, and Saint Paul Public Schools Fresh Force. The distinction is not given every year and the Minnesota Department of Education considers it to be the highest honor the award program has to offer. New Beginnings is truly among a group of distinguished, high-quality service learning programs.
